ASSETS OF MEXICAN PUBLIC OFFICIALS

As of 1997, Mexico has federal legislation which requires all governmental officials to do 3 filings with the Federal Mexican Government regarding the notice of their personal assets.. They are: 1 File a statement of their assets prior to entry into office; 2. File a statement of their assets prior to exit of office; and 3. file a yearly statement of assets while in office.

The goal is to determine that there is no unjust enrichment of the governmental official.
